It was May 3, the day when Manny Pacquiao was about to face Ricky Hatton on the ring.
I went to church to attend the first service. If it was an ordinary Sunday, I could have waited for the elevator in the Basement - alone.
But it was no ordinary Sunday. When I walked towards the elevator, there were already people waiting in there. I could see in there in eyes that they were very excited. I have heard one said, “1,000 for Manny, he will beat Hatton in 7th round.” His companion said, “Let’s raise the stake to 10,000” and then they both laughed.
I looked at all the people around me; I felt tears swelled in my eyes. I felt chagrin. I remember the church was never filled with much people especially if it is too early in the morning. I just wished they were also excited to praise God and hear God’s words.
But, God did not disappoint them. Manny Pacquiao won and knocked out Ricky Hatton on the 2nd round.
