Name Game

This is my first time to join Mommy Moments and I am looking forward for more moments like this. My first and I could no even create an original post. LOL.

I am reposting this for today's subject Names for this Mommy Moments.

My husband’s friend came to our house earlier together with his wife and their daughter Teekie (pronounced as TK). After they left, hubby asked me, “Do you know why their daughter’s name is TK?” I said no. He said “They used to work in Toy Kingdom and that’s where they met. This made them decide to name their kid Teekie.”

He then told me, “We should have named Adie (Sean Deanniel) “JB” for Jollibee, that is where I met my husband. I then added jokingly, “Then we should have named Andie (Mathea Deanne), “BB” for Boracay Beach, because that is where she was made. LOL.

Name Game

SEAN DEANNIEL

My husband’s name is Sean. I love that name and he wants to have his first son named after him so that’s were we got Sean. I wanted it to be biblical as well. I love Daniel but I changed the spelling to Deanniel.



MATHEA DEANNE

Since our second child’s a girl, hubby wants it to be named after me or at least have the first letter “M” as well. I looked online and found Mathea which means Gift from God and I did not want Deanniel to be removed but I changed it to Deanne to make it feminine.

Team Building 2009

After our Fun Day last May, everyone in the office was excited about our Team Building. It was set from June - September 2009. Each department's divided to make sure everyone gets to attend without hampering the operations, of course.

I was assigned first batch in our department.

We went to Caliraya Recreational Center in Lewin Laguna. The training department had it all prepared.

They set up games and not just games, they made sure all of our muscles were flexed and used. Too tiring. We were playing these games while the sun's up. High noon. My personal favorite was the Wall Climbing and Rappelling.

I was too tired to even lift my fork when we had our lunch. After lunch while others were taking a nap, we decided our muscles were not flexed enough. Haha. We went to Fly Pinoy and shouted to the top of our lungs.

Mr. Sun seemed to enjoy himself so much and even asked companionship from the Rain. Since the rain was pouring, we decided to just play basketball on the pool just for fun.

Afterwards new sets of games followed and then it's time to go home.

The Champion Team was announced a week after - and lo and behold we're the Champion.

A Special Day

Not long ago the Filipino people mourned for the lost of a great leader – Corazon C. Aquino. She was the one who led the People Power back in 1986 to fight the dictatorship of then President Ferdinand Marcos.

Today we celebrate the death of her husband, Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino. 26 years ago he was shot and his death triggered the long been suppressed anger of the Filipinos.

I hope that we will not forget the sacrifices made by others for the benefit of our country.

Long live the Filipinos. Long live our country. Thank you Ninoy for making us realize that the Filipinos are truly worth dying for.

This happens to be my birthday as well. :)

How Great is our God.

I was waiting for Seandy to finish the exams. While waiting, I have been praying about a lot of things.

The exams took about an hour. Even before Seandy got out from his class I received text messages. Three of my prayers have been answered right away. Thanks be to God.

Sometimes it's even hard to imagine that God could still here my prayers. But it is just so good to know that He is God. His faithfulness never ceases and His mercies never come to an end.

It is comforting to know that His love for us is unconditional and will not be affected by our actions or attitude.

He cares for each of us and listens to all of our prayers and knows exactly our needs. We just have to trust Him and know that His ways are always best.

We bid you goodbye, Cory.

I woke up at around 10:00 in the morning. I'll be on a night shift so I can still relax. I opened the TV when it came to me that today is the burial of Cory Aquino. A mass was held for her. I started crying when Kris Aquino delivered her speech. I am a very family oriented person and I feel for her. It is totally depressing to face the death of your mom. I was moved when she said she lied to her mom when she said they are okay about her leaving them.

I was also touched by the Filipino people who showed compassion for the family.

I knew I needed to wear a yellow shirt tonight when I go to work. I decided I would drop by in SM to buy a yellow shirt. I wanted so much to be a part of this day when all I can see are my countrymen showing their love for our country.

I asked my mom to accompany me to mall. The management of the Mall also gave tribute to Cory. They set up a stage where they showed video clips of Cory. At the back was a wall where people can write messages for Cory.








It gives me much joy to see that our country still have hope. I do not believe in politics. I believe that the responsibility lies much on every person not just on the president. That the role of every parent in rearing kids are much more important than the role of the president in our lives.

If only parents can raise a Godly and responsible children our country can move further.

My husband told me that he admired the love that I have for our country. I wanted to impart that to our kids.

Goodbye Cory. Thank you for showing that we Filipino are capable of loving our country that much.

Nice to be home

We had a chance to go to Kalibo, Aklan for a short visit last July 27-July 31.

My brother in law arrived and he was visiting we went with him. It was a request from my in laws since they wish to see my kids.

It was just a short visit but it was fun.

I have been away from blogging for a while now. I have so many things to write about but I do not much time.

I want to write about our short vacation in Aklan, our Team Building where our team was the champion, I wanna write about the death of Cory, I wanna write about our country, etc.

I wish I have more time.
